alex! man that sucks. don't volks come with 2 different types of locks for each wheel? if your car was at home, i think you can claim through home insurance. i had a friend who's car got broken into and had all his audio stuff stripped. car insurance wouldn't cover it so we went through his home insurance. i'll find out more info on what he did and give you a call.

Wheels and audio equipment cannot be claimed on homeowner's insurance. If there was personal property in the vehicle, that can be claimed through a H.O. policy. Anything that is part of or attached to the vehicle can only be claimed through your auto policy. I am a insurance broker here in SoCal so I run into this all of the time. And unfortunately, if he did not advise his insurance company that he had aftermarket wheels, many companies will not cover the theft. Mercury is a good example of this rule. So if anyone has Mercury and has wheels, you better add special equipment coverage or they will not be insured.

Will they pay for the Infiniti factory wheels 19" in his case? Don't they cost around $850 at the dealer per wheel?

Did you buy the wheels with a credit card? Some cards have theft protection. Check into it.

+1000

A guy I know had his volks stolen of his 350Z & the insurance would only offer him $1k for his Volks, so he got a quote for the OEM's with tires, TPS & mounting/installation, ended up getting almost $5K for the OEM's from his insurance & bought new Volks.

Try that route, have the insurance pay you for OEM 19's w/ Tires etc, get a written estimate from the dealership for all that and I'm sure you'll get more money then you would have with the Volks.

Good point. It really depends on the company. I can't say for sure because every company has different underwriting rules. But it is definitely possible and worth a try. If they do, he may get back more than what his Volks were worth.

I parked my car at night and when I woke up, I saw my car with no wheels. I'm not really sure how they stole them.

I have a feeling that thet've been scoping out the car for a while and had planned the whole thing. I had wheel locks on all 20 bolts but now that I think about it, they are really common wheel locks and on top of that, all 20 were the same, so if anything, as long as they had the right key, I made their job easier.

Where can you purchase unique wheel locks?

Sorry to hear about that, that is terrible. Even with wheel locks, its easy as hell to take off a wheel for even a novice thief. Nothing you can really do except get the wheels covered through insurance (mine are insured for 3500 w/ tires) ...but like someone else mentioned, you can probably get more for just claiming the OEM 19s w/ tires and TPS. Good luck!

Welcome to Anaslime.....!

Wheel locks are easy to remove if you know how and wouldn't even slow a
pro down. I can't believe you don't have some kind of receipt for your
wheels......credit card/pay pal or something. I know I shouldn't say this but
find a wheels shop that will post date a receipt for you if you'll buy the new
wheels from them.....if all else fails you'll find a way! You do have pic?
When you get the new wheels spend the extra $ to upgrade your alarm!
