Tire chains?
Tire chains?
Anyone know where I can get tire chains for the 245/40/19 tires on the 05 19" rims? Probably a bad idea but I don't have another car and I NEED to go snowboarding before it all melts and all I can do is

they go on your REAR tires ONLY. (poor lexus RX's with chains on the rear.... lol)
Also having this problem... I usually just pay a visit to my parents and "borrow" their suv ... but its out of service at the moment so ...
Called both Kregen and Walmart... they don't have 245/40/19. both place the guy went "Uh... are these for an SUV? they're pretty big..."

It's going to be a hard find in Irvine, since you're so far away from the mountains.
Go online and look up a store on the way to Big Bear, something in Redlands or Mentone, and they'll stock chains. I got both of my sets of chains from an Autozone (i think), off of Redlands Blvd and Citrus Ave. It's about 2 exits further than the 30/330 interchange off of the 10 fwy.
Also, Chick's and Big5 sometimes carry chains.
amazon has the scc sz139 for $48.00 with free shipping...i ordered a set of sz135 and they were shipped from reno and got to me in two days.

Dude, You'd rather rent a car(I mean SUV or FF)
It's kinda really hard to find the RIGHT snow (cable) chain for G.
I tried SCC z-chain which was specially designed for the S.A.E. Class "S"(for passenger vehicles with limited clearance around the drive tires) but didn't fit at all. (like 5inches short)

I did a search by tire/wheel size and purchased the recommended size(Z-555)but didn't fit at all. Luckly I bought it from dealership in Tustin, CA so I could return it right away(most shops like Walmart, they don't allow you to return any sort of snowchains.)
So if you want to try SCC ones, I highly recommend you to test it before you hit the snow.
