Ok i'm narrowing down what we're doing....

If I were to cruise Hwy 1, where would I go?

North?
South?

What would be my destination for the cruise?

Would it be someplace I would want to spend the night?

 

Head north… take 101 to Morrow Bay then take hwy 1 – a short distance from that junction is Cambria – real nice beach cottages (search Cambria for lodging)… is you want a really cool drive, take hwy 1 all the way to Monterey – when you get up into Big Sure and Carmel it’s one of the best drives in the country! Incredible views and awesome twisties (rent a sporty car). The link bellow is a very cool Hotel right on the beach – make sure you stay in the ocean view side; the rooms are literally just yards from the water.

La Brea Tar Pits.... right near the Peterson. You may have oil in TX, but it aint full of mammoths, dire wolves and sabertooth lions!

Go to the mountains and play in the snow. 45m to 2hr drive, no chains needed...but you TX's may get a little scared of the drops. I took my old boss from Houston, and his wife and kids were at butt pucker level 10.
