I have not heard of any devices being installed into cops eyes yet.

So his word against the LAW.

cop fvcked up and did not use anything to determine the tint.

Wow...never heard you need a "Device" to determine if window is tinted. I'll have to request my department to get one of these.

I'm guessing you're not from California. Equipment laws differ slightly in other states. As far as devices go, it's not necessary.

but definately lets get together for a shoot! AND I HATE IRVINE popos, they pull you over for the most ridiculous things. one time they pulled me over and told me to open the hood -_- luckily i didn't have much hehe, but theyre annoying!

Jokr, your link doesn't indicate the required use of a device. Anyways, this is beating a dead horse. Its inevitable cops are going to continue to stop anyone with tinted windows regardless of shade level. If you get cited, yet your window tint meets the legal requirments, then you can start getting into the technicalities and try to fight it. Sometimes its just worth paying the fine rather than go through the trouble of fighting it. Just my .02 cents.

All you need is approximation and articulation by the officer to deem why the driver is in violation for unlawful window tint. You don't need a device. Anyways i'm done.

By the way, good info on fighting tickets and its process, however it does not mean you'll win.

I cant say its required because (knock on wood) i havent gotten hit for it. However, "real" cops will have devices to measure the tint levelsand those I have seen used before. I cant say the following is one of them but they sre out there

http://www.promotorcarproducts.com/d...tint-meter.htm

As fo fighting it ... hell yeah. Technicalities are the soul of the law

Its $25......I say pay it and call it a day.
For you to Take the day off - Drive to the court - wait to see the judge.
Basically waste a day, is more than $25 worth, at least to me.

Yeah I know its the priciple....but for $25 - the MAN can have the principle.
