I got mine done at a good place in lake forest for $60, called Auto Recon. It's right by the dealerships so they do collision repair, etc. for the dealerships. Process took about an hour and the crack was hardly noticeable after.

Used them twice on my G. Good service and good work. Didn't have to pay a dime both times i went. Not sure why you paid, Calvin?

Insurance should cover it (depending on your coverage). If your crack is in the drivers line of sight, you'll have to get the entire windshield replaced. Just call your insurance carrier and let them know you have a crack and would like to get it fixed. They should let you know if you need to pay. If you already know where you want to go to get it fixed, just tell them and glassdoctor is usually insurance approved. They should fax over the paperwork to whichever store you want to go to and you just call the store and make an appointment.

Do not try to fix it yourself, and do not try to clean the crack. Also try not to park under the sun with your windows up. Temperature changes will cause the windshield to expand and contract and it makes the crack worse. Using cleaners may end up getting debris even more stuck in the crack and your repair won't come out as good.
