Some locksmiths are able to duplicate your transponder key, of course at a cheaper cost than dealers. Without doing an extensive search, Able Key is located in the Los Angeles area and in the FAQs:

the average price to replace a lost transponder key can start at $150 and up, the price varies by make and model. Duplicate transponder keys start at about $45 and also vary by make and model.
You could buy the alarm remote, aka key fob, on ebay for $20 and program itself. DIY manuals are on this site. PM whoever works at the dealership and ask him how much they charge.

Thumbs up

Talk to riverside or tustin, tell them Derek sent ya, best price from a dealer.
Otherwise, buy one off e-bay, much cheaper, or call us, happy to help!(866)789-0207

I paid 380 for key and remote in vegas about a month ago. Lost my only set after a hard night of partying. Luckly I had won 1k on the Wheel of Fortune game my first night there. Im still kicking myself in the **** for that one.. Wanted to pick up my first mod or two with my winnings.

i priced out what was needed to replace a key for an 08 g37 (i think 06 and below intelligent keys have different internals). it comes in 3 pieces: the key $25 cut, the fob $43, and the latch/clip $27. $100 for programming.
