Ticket for having an Overlays??

I got pulled over by highway patrol yesterday.. So I thought another Tinted windows ticket.. And he starts saying by you have illegel taillight.. I was like what the hell.. This is my 3rd car having an overlays and first time getting a ticket for that.. All other cops didn't care when they gave me tinted windows ticket.. But he was bi**hin at me.. Also.. I lowered my car with Swift which lowered about 1.7" F/R.. He also said if you lowered your car more than that I have to give you ticket for that.. And he was putting his finger between my tires and fender gap.. Anyway.. I just thought ask anyone who got a ticket for the overlays.. Cops are really trying to come down on people who fix cars.. I am getting HKS supercharger installed by GT motorsports tomorrow.. Good thing I went that route instead JWT TT.. Cause I would got a ticket within a first week and then have to have TT removed.. Anyway.. CALI sucks.!!! I wanna go back to KOREA!!!.. OR other states where they don't have as many as laws.. Like NEVADA or something..

I thought it's illegal if there is no "reflective red" on the back end of your car?

you have to be able to see the tails light up from 1k feet away. cops don't have to actually test that and can give you a ticket for tinted tails.

if you want, you can figure out a way to prove visibility from 1k feet and fight it, but it's not worth it imo.

just take the overlays off.

what kind of overlays where they....it all depends on the cops too...some cops just look at the car and go away...if you were speedin etc etc... or if the cop was just an *******....but even with full smoked 6/10s the light is visilble form hella far away...it might of just been teh cop

Cops used to give out tix for anything on the tail lights back when I was did it in '82! BTW, if you give them attitude, they'll write you up for EVERYTHING ... Legal or not just to make you go through the hassle of clearing it.

yeah GTR overlays should be legal, as long as you're not covering the actual lights they shouldn't give you any trouble.
