^ you'll also need insurance if it is a car SHOW.. this way if some one trips and falls they cant sue the property.

Stupid as it sounds thats what's required for a lot of places to host a meet.

Hai I'm getting you details at our place in mind, I've spoke to the owner for a little today. He'll be down at my work on Monday - Wednesday and we can work out some details there.. From a quick talk he's pretty cool about the whole thing and has already allowed a few domestic clubs to host showoffs and such..

Like for my BBQ they want all sorts of permits.

1) photography permits
2) the models or girls need to have insurance
3) if you want to pop your hood it's a permit. Considered a car show.
4) photographers need to have insurance...

The list goes on...In other words you need to pay the city to gather a big group. They want their money for their troubles...(BS) Anyways, I am not throwing another G35 BBQ at Mile square...They lost my business. I just hope they don't bug you guys on the HB GTG. They will I think if it gets too big...
Thanks.....We should be ok but this year it might be huge.......Hope your GTG goes well......I will try to come out, saw the last one great turnout!

As far as the HB meet goes, I asked the Police last year and basicly it comes down to this:

If we don't have a permit, they can actually kick us out if they 'feel like it.' Last year they were alittle irritated at us setting up tents and chairs on the parking lot and fencing off section of the parking lot for our group. Usually HB police are pretty nice about things but it's up to them. Without a permit they can terminate our meet at will.

Sigh~ I called the city today and they redirected me to the website. Unfortunately I don't have any good news regarding meet permits. There are tons of applications for permits that need to be filed, insurance has to be purchased, filming permit, parking permit, payment to public works, fire dept. inspection for event safety, public works inspection, parking lot setup fee, maintenance fee, attendant fee, parking space rental fee, event organizer needs to sign up for temporary business license for special event, liability insurance prof, blah blah blah blah blah.

Not to say that it cannot be done, but it will be very tedious and troublesome to go the legit route. When all is said and done we'll have to pay close to $5000 to the city to get permission to block off a section of the parking lot for our usage. (for 6 hours) This does not include any fee for rental equipments, setup, tents, food, drink, and other stuff.

so................................................ I guess we've been pretty lucky the last several years.

wow.......

Ok so we do our meet and maybe have the tents away from the cars......

Or we pick a new location.....

Hmm....Steven think about it let me know what you think, or anyone who lives in HB......

Unless we talk to the Hilton or another location near the beach were we can ask someone to use there property.

Josh, why don't we just forget the tents and all? I really don't think many people will be spending much time in the sand, anyway.

Why not just do it as we've always done it? If there just so happens to be a bunch of G's & Z's in one parking lot, then so be it. Call it a coincidence, LOL. We've never gotten heat before...

I say let's not make it any more complicated than it has to be.

Doesn't matter. We held the raffle in the lot last year. It didn't last very long. I don't think we'll have a problem. We can just do it at the end before we leave. The raffle should be done at the end, anyway. That'll force people to stick around.
