check engine light is on? what do i do?HELLLLPPPPP! whats causing this? any shop that can help?

 

It's hard to tell you what's causing it without more information. An new mods recently?

Take it to Autozone and see what code you get.

 

No mods....i dont know but my mechanic is coming over tomorrow...hopefully nothing big.

 

+1, service manual lists all codes.

 

If you're around 714 I can help you, I got a obdII scanner that can check/scan your ecu and get the codes.

 

ummmnn....i work in la habra....how far are you from beach and imperial?

 

If it is just the check engine light it is nothing serious.

When things like vdc/slip/abs/airbag and everything else start turning on...that is when something is really wrong.

Check engine...usually something small.

I'm located on the other side of Beach, around Edinger area haha, but I can help ya find the problem with my scanner if you want, takes 5 minutes.

 

if the light is on....maybe just unplug ur black battery wire.... overnigth about 12 hours and it should be gone...if not then you have to bring it in

 

Dont reset the ECU.. it doesnt do anything but clear the cold along with everything else.. radio stations, drivers adaptation, fuel maps etc..

Bring to autozone they'll pull the code for free... or take it to SEARs and tip a kid $5-$10 and they'll pull the code as well =P.. once you get the code google it and see what you get or post it up here.. then we'll help you out..

Check basics first.. hows your idle? good? not rough? etc..

Check engine light usually has to do with emissions..

 

Yea my mechanic will check it tomorrow....im prety busy tonight....guess what eric? Im pickin up an 94 EG tonight hahahaha.....and its white....damn....watsup with me and white cars....first i had white celica, then an 86 white corolla, then a 2001 corolla type S, Current G IP...then EG for dailing driving?...oh my...
