California Police Officers I have a tint question for you

I have been reading a lot of the threads on here about tint in California and i noticed a few cops chiming in. So... I have a question...

I will be visiting California for a "short" time. I currently live in Texas and my car is registered here in Texas. If i get pulled over would you or any officer give me a ticket since i am not a resident of the state and my car isn't registered in California? I have 20% all around so let me know what you think. Thanks

you cannot get a tint ticket in a state that your car is not registered in, us Marylanders have to deal with VA who's law is 50% tint limit

Yes, you can.

You need to follow the laws of the state you are driving in.

That said, you need also run a front plate in CA, even if your state does not require one.

Well, considering no state allows 20% tint in the front, yes you can.

no you cant, you have to follow the laws of driving, not modifications to the car. Explain to me then why PA drivers that are not required to have a front plate dont get tickets in MD for not having them? So then you are telling me that CA can give tickets for modified exhausts when your not registered in that state too?

I disagree, for example PA doesnt even issue two plates so how could CA enforce that?

Im have 20% and dont have problems in other states, how is a CA cop going to know texas law. Ok I looked it up and CA is strict
CA:Enforcement Note : Out-of-State cars driven in California are required to be in compliance with the CA Tint law.

That jsut sucks, and by the way NM you can have 20%

When applicable, I'm sure.

I know someone who has a car registered out of CA but still got a ticket for a modified exhaust. I know someone who has a car registered outside of CA and still got a ticket for tint.

They both tried to fight it and lost.

But i mean what would someone do on their vacation go get it taken off while their kids are at universal. I always just pay my tickets so i dont know what happens if you just leave. I wont have the luxury of just leaving the state but i would use the vacation line as my excuse

That doesn't mean it's legal. That just means you've been lucky.

How long will you be here? What part of CA? As long as you don't stick out like a sore thumb (have an extreme body kit, drive like an @$$, etc.), then you shouldn't have any trouble. Most cops won't pull you over just for tint, unless they are in a p!ssy mood or something.

I know that its not legal.......

My point is that I dont really think that it should be that much of a concern...Most cops out here arent looking to pull you over because your windows are tinted...hell all the cops I know have the windows on their own cars tinted..They are looking to get people for moving voilations then add the fix it tickets to that depending on your cooperation/attitude...
