Besides online sites, do you guys know of any place in Los Angeles that gives a decent deal on your car?

Do the work and sell it private party to get the best bang for your buck. The whole purpose of selling it was to save money right? The more you get for it the less you have to save

Carmax is ehh. They don't offer any more than anyone else would. They all work in the same economy.

Trading in to CarMax doesn't magically make your car worth more.
