little help here..

i'm dying for some barbecue baby back ribs.can you recommend a place in LA,OC or SAN BERNADINO county?(willing to travel) and i'm not talking about 'apple bee' or 'tony roma' here.i'm talking about a place where their specialty IS bbq.you know? top choice meat, seasoning and aged to perfection, slow cook in a constant low temperture, covered with best kept secret sauce.when it come to the plate, you touch it and the meats falling off the bones.the look make you want to eat more than your stomach can handles, the smell that will clear your sinus and the taste that will make you forget your G...eh,ok.i'll take back the last part.deng,i'm posting this at 7 in the morning.i'm out of control .

Burrell's in Santa Ana. A hole in the wall place in the middle of a residential neighboorhood with years of articles in the paper on the wall. You will think you stepped into New Orleans when you are there.

Do you hear me?

I went to this little place that serves some good barbeque. I'm not sure what the place is called....but it's off the 10 frwy, West Covina Parkway. Right next to the Chevron gas station. There is a small shopping center there on the corner.

Re: little help here..

Lucilles in Long Beach(2 locations) is pretty damm good. Everything is slow cooked for several hours.....real deep smokey flavor. I dunno about ribs falling off the bone, but you get that effect from boiling the ribs first, which is not what you are looking for. Avoid some overpriced crap like Mr. Cecils.

Lucilles has a place in Belmont shores and another one off Carson st( I think) in Long Beach. Also Brea and Torrance

My favorite item is the pork chops which are very smokey in the middle and have a sweet glaze. They are served with spiced apples and sweet potato cakes. If you want gravy on your mashed potatos you have to ask for it.

I know its a chain, but its very good and highly rated on online sites. Prices are comparable to Claim Jumper.

Re: little help here..

Here is another vote for Lucilles. I've gone to the one in Torrance, and I was very impressed with the taste - and the quantity!

Re: little help here..

I would have to give another nod to Lucilles. The jalapeno cheese grits are the bomb and I dont like grits.
