New owner / clearbra?

Hi all, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster since I've finally placed my order for my G coupe (set for delivery int he last week of July).

I've read a bit on some of the controversy regarding the potential that some colors of paint on the Gs are more susceptible to paint chipping than other colors and am considering getting a clear bra installed. Before doing so, I'd really like to be able to see it installed in person and on the color I'm getting (Diamond Graphite) so I can see in person how noticeable the crease from the install is.

So if there are any owners in the Southern CA area (I live in West LA near Brentwood) with a DG Coupe w/ clear bra installed, please reply or message, I would LOVE to see your car in person.

Thanks all and hope to meet some of you in person once I get my baby in. (DG 6MT, Nav, Premium, Aero/Spoiler)

I have a BS sedan... I shoulda done it the first week i had the car.

Not sure how it will look on a DG, but it's gotta be better than the road scars you are gonna experience on the local Fwys. The evil rock carriers are out there!

At what distances would you say that the clear bra is easily noticeable?

Re: New owner / clearbra?

I have a BS sedan and I did install the clear bra the first week I had the car. I have no regrets with the installation. I would have to agree that it's hard to notice on a BS car. The installer came to the wife's job to perform the install and was finished in about 3 hours. The next day the car was droped off at the Infinity dealer for a detail job. The dealer was very impressed and wanted the installers name for posible future work.

Hmm, guess it's a good sign that i can't distinguish the clear bra line in your shot. How long have you had it on? Notice any yellowing that's visible against DG?

You can't see it unless you look for it and even then it is a great investment!

Re: New owner / clearbra?

I have a DG sedan, and it is very hard to notice the clear bra in most lighting conditions any more than 4' away. It seems to be easiest when the light is at a sharp angle to it so that the line casts more of shadow. I've only had mine on for about 4 weeks now, so there has been no yellowing for me. My clear bra is a Venture Tape product [or at least I believe that is the product name].

Re: New owner / clearbra?

I just got mine 2 weeks ago. Same DG color. I've got 2 nice rock-chips on my hood. One's close to the grill, other's closer to the windshield.

Where/Who did you guys call to get it installed? I want the guy to come and do it at my work too.

Re: New owner / clearbra?

I had Daniel do my install at my house. In fact he is coming back this coming Monday to install some additional areas - trunk lip and door edge.

Is there anyone who still does mobile installs on the westside LA? I just got my front bumper repainted and wanted to protect that sucker ASAP.
