If it's your first year at UCLA I would definitely dorm..you will meet a lot more people. You won't regret it..only ups to living off campus is cheaper rent and you can throw your own parties.

OP: I have a buddy that's looking for a place for several months because his lease is up and he's only staying for the rest of the quarter. Duno how comfortable you are about rooming with a stranger but PM me your info/unit info if you're interested. He's a cool guy but definitely needs secure parking for his bike.
