I wonder if they stop ALL cars or just the ones that may seem to have modifications or older cars.

Smog checkpoints are voluntary. If you pass, they give you certification paperwork.

This has been happening for a few years now... where have the rest of you guys been?

Even if they are "Voluntary" the cop could just say your gonna get a smog test anyways, just to be a d1ck.

I actually know people who searched these out to get paperwork saying they pass.

It's free, and will get you out of future tickets, as opposed to having to pay at the ref, and wasting a day.

ya these things are mostly for older cars. this has the honda guys worried cause most of them are running jdm swaps.

it's those dui checkpoints where you can get screwed, that's where they can pop your hood.

I'm in el paso right now and I've seen a lot of enforcement over the trans mountain pass. I saw 5 sheriffs today. I rarely see so many on such short stretches in Cali.

+1 el paso is notorious for having lots of cops on the highway. 5 sheriffs is a light day
