i'm looking for a local shop to install final drive gears. any recommendations? thanks.

The whole thing or just the ring/pinion? For the typical cost of setting up a rear, it's probably cheaper just to swap the entire rear end.

i'm not sure what's the easiest way.. but just to get it done. anyone know what's the labor should be around? $150-200?

$450 to install ring & pinion... much less just to swap pumpkin... if you want cheap, get a 3.5 FD pumpkin and just swap... if you want anything other than 3.5 you'll have to have them installed.

so to make the 4.0xx work.. it's the ring and pinion.. roughly around $450 for install only?

yes install only... parts would double the price (all approx)
