Wheel Scratches - Discover Infiniti, Escondido

They offer an in house service for scratched rims...runs about $125 per wheel. I'm going to have mine done at my next oil change. They do it there too, and don't have to ship the wheel out or anything. Also, they put an additional clear coat on the wheel that he (service rep) says makes it look even better than the original clear coat.

Just thought I'd post this as there have been numerous questions about where to go for scratched rims...

Re: Wheel Scratches - Discover Infiniti, Escondido

I just called them today and talked to a rep named Charlie and he quoted me $185 a wheel and didn't mentioned anything about a clearcoat. I think its a pretty good deal for $125 (esp. avoiding shipping) but it really pisses me off that they gave me different price. Are you fixing the coupe's 18" 7 spoke wheels? That's the only thing I could think of for the difference in our quotes. If you don't mind, would you let me know who you spoke with from Discover or let me know me know the final cost when you get it done. I hate feeling like I'm getting ripped off at the dealership. It would help out a fellow G owner big time and would be greatly appreciated.

I think you called the kearny mesa store. I know Charlie works at that location. So that might be the first reason why it is more expsensive. I would also try a place called wheels america I think their number is 1800 4 fix rim. They have some pretty good deals on repairs

Baba...yeah...I was about to say, there are 2 Discover Infiniti's in SD. Speak to MJ in Escondido (760-796-5500). Just called him again and she said $125 / wheel. Said it will take most of the day and you need to make an appointment. I won't be getting mine done for another couple thousand miles when I get my oil changed next.

"Just called him again and she said. . ."

Equal opportunity employer, eh? ;-)

LOL

BTW, is it for the 18s? Mine have a few gnarly scratches I'd love to take care of.

Hector, yeah you're right I wasn't considering both dealerships. I thought they would charge the same price. Thanks for the info on wheels america, I'll try calling tomorrow and let you guys know how muck it costs. I think I've heard of them before. I would need to ship the damaged wheel right?

Drewer...haha...my fault...

yeah...I have a coupe w/ the 18's. Again..I'll have it done a couple weeks from now and I'll let you guys know...my front right is pretty bad from almost 2 years ago, the first month that I had the car...fishtailed around a corner (my first rear wheel drive car) and slammed into the curb...not so good...
