Status Autoworks in torrance quoted me $340 for painting the grill on my 07 g35 sedan black and for installing black vinyl overlay on my window and trunk chrome. Does anyone know if thats a fair price?

Hell no thats not a fair price. Paint for a grill shouldnt be more than $100. Overlays cannot be $240 bucks.

they said 150 for the grill and 190 for the vinyl. Supposedly its a reputable place lol. But i dont know. it seems a bit high

for both labor and install.

my buddy from DownShiftGraphics did it.

To tell the truth:

Originaly it was 75.00 but since he took a long time and it was getting late, he told me it would be 40.00, instead I gave him 60.00

I had my poly front lip, and fiberglass grill paint matched (tb) (the guy had to buy the paint, he didnt have it laying around)
and he charged me $160 for everything, that included prep for the poly lip too (which was a bit of a bitch he said)
Realistically I wouldnt pay more than 100$ jsut for the grill

damnn how long ago did you get this job done? $75 sounded like a bombass price but I just called in to get a quote and they said they stopped doing it a bit ago because of how long it took. They also said it was risky since it was really close to the paint but he said if i really wanted to get it done, it would be $130 for all the windows and the chrome on the trunk.

I didn't think he was real serious when he metioned he wasn't going do it anymore.

It did take a long time, and when he quoted me, he was going off the quote he offers BMW guys.. Guess the G was a little harder than expected and had to raise his price.

Well if my vinyl doesn't hold up, I'll also hit up mextep place. Leave a small review if you can.

I did the vinyl myself for $10.

The only real issue I had was that the rear window has that curve and the window frame turns from thin to thick. that took a big piece of vinyl and some patience.

oh i meant mexteps place was painting the grill for 70 haha. Downshifts graphics are $130 for the vinyl. Im not sure if its worth it..? Im a noob at doing this stuff and I dont want to buy the vinyl and mess up myself. It already happened with the taillights because i wasnt expecting those bigass angled curves on them. Also, im not sure if i want to risk scratching my car while trying to get the vinyl fitted right.

You think I should still do it for $130? for all the windows and the trunk? They do have a good warranty unlike other places that say no.. And it is $60 bucks cheaper than the place i was going to do it at originally.. not to mention its the cheapest quote ive gotten for that kind of job so far. (thats why i was drooling over the $75 price you had earlier haha

Ill post pics of the painted grill when I get it back on thursday
