Los Angeles Auto Detailer

Hello. New to G35 driver and 4 days new to Southern California and Los Angeles. Looking for auto detailing in Silverlake/Los Feliz/Hollywood area. I've searched and 'exclusive auto detail' appears to be a top choice but really guys, is Southern California that crazy expensive? $250 for interior/exerior; $350 for clay bar and detail. Really?......

I'm from Canada but most recently lived in Southern Florida (Broward County). Could drop my car off there, dude would start working and I'd come back 3 hours later and he'd just be finishing up. Total interior and exterior, clay bar and wax, 80 bucks. I knew that was cheap but $350! Really? I've heard this is easily the most expensive state for all things vehicular.

Let me know if this is standard, 'cause I'm clueless in this town.

Thanks
2006 G35 Sports Coupe

^ from what I hear you're paying 250 for a 30 dollar wash from that exclusive place.

Thanks but the exclusive auto detail company, I mentioned was the only one listed for auto detailers. They seem good based on comments. I was more curious about the service prices, not having encountered any that high in a few states.

theres a paintless dent removal place on that list too that does detailing.

I do my own detailing so I've never shopped around for detailers. Soon enough someone will chime in. But don't waste your money with exclusive. I've heard numerous times that it was a waste of money

Thanks. I really appreciate the info. May have to get into detailing myself. Was just so cheap in Fort Lauderdale that it never seemed worth it.

Glad to be in LA, though.

Exclusive Auto Detail's prices are competitive for the detailing market. You are not going to find a total interior and exterior, clay bar and wax for anywhere close to 80 bucks. They detailed my car twice a couple of years ago and I was very pleased with their work. My car came out very clean and I still get compliments today about how clean my paint is and I haven't gotten a detail in a past couple years. Contact them you can likely get the service for a bit cheaper than what they list, particularly if you tell them you found them on the forums.

Honestly..I've had him do my car before...

I'd much rather to it myself for the quality of work I received. That's just me being honest.

^Nowadays I would do it myself just because I would rather work on my car myself whenever possible. Can I use your foam spray gun Aaron?

For $80 you didn't get a detail, and prob just vacuumed the interior. $350 is a pretty common price but moreso for cars that need more than just a 1 step. You can do most of this yourself, there are many write ups and great info on the web, autopia is a GREAT site and there is also info on detailimage as well.

Well. With great respect, I would happily have run my tongue over the vehicle after it has been done without fear of rough spots or contamination. Mint, total mint.
Also used to work in the coffee shop across the way at various points while I waited (the 3-3.5h it would take) and the man was busy doing his thing. Have also had cheapo wash and waxes so happy I know the difference. Did not include interior shampoo if that's any help.......

80-100 bucks was a ballpark price for Lauderdale just as 100-150 would be a ballpark price for Toronto, Canada where I've just come from.

I think the conclusion (pretty obvious) is LA is an expensive car town (not the least contributor of which is gas prices 50 cents more than any of the states from New York to here I drove through last week). Gonna have to cut down on beer and toothpaste to afford it all.

More than half the labor of a FULL detail will be in the interior. In most cases, a good shop will even pull your seats out to get EVERY nook and cranny.

So 80-100 would be normal for an exterior detail anywhere.
