I might have to drive down for this.

Wow this sounds like it would be a lot of fun, keep us informed on the date and time. Will HQ have any prizes or food? 20th also works out great.

That's cool- I live on 190th. I never drive inland, so maybe I'll have to swing by more often and pay homage.

Re: HUGE SoCal MEET coming up...

Randy, maybe we should organize a mini-meet with 10 cars and head up to NNA HQ to show them we are serious and organized. Typically these requests gets shuffled around corporate circles and lost in beuracracies. If we all drive down there (with an appointment, of course) maybe they'd take us more seriously. The 350Z Anniversary launch is not too far away, we need to get them to include us in the planning ASAP.

Re: HUGE SoCal MEET coming up...

In 2002, we held the car show portion of the 240sx Convention at NNA HQ. While Nissan is happy to allow the use of their facility, we did find that it required Nissan Employees to volunteer time to help coordinate the event. There are quite a few enthusiasts in the company that we met with prior to the event. It helped that one of the members of our planning committee was friends with at least one of the Nissan employees. Keep in mind though, the event we planned was on a national scale. I'm sure that made them a bit more receptive as well.

Randy, is your contact there someone you know or did you just cold call them? If needed, I can see if I can get you a more receptive person to contact...

Another option may be Eibach as well. The 240sx group had a rather large meet there on Sunday. Some 75 cars I think. They gave us a tour of the facility and even provided pizza. They had stuff to giveaway too, but the guy who had it was ill that day and couldn't show to give it away. Their lot is pretty big and the guys there are pretty cool.

Last suggestion might just be a park. The 240 guys have held BBQ's at Mile Square Park each summer and turned a nice crowd each year(bigger every year). They did ask that we get permits if we plan another event there the last time we went though. The SE-RCA guys also through a BBQ locally each year with pretty good success. Just charge a small fee to each person to cover Food expenses and other than acheiving a permit it's fairly simple. But we do have to be on good behavior if you want any other events at the same location as they will not issue permits if you behave badly.
