Hello All,

I've discussed having a huge meet with a few of the SoBay guys and I think Ted's recent post has kick started the event. I want to have it at Charles Wilson Park in Torrance off of Crenshaw. This park takes up one entire city block and has a HUGE parking lot. As for a date, I was thinking November sometime and obviously on a Sat or Sun (except the weekend after Thanksgiving cuz most will be out of town). So, let do it, do it! Any suggestions? This can be a BBQ, car show, GTG, etc.

can you check into permits... parking is limited and I think the biggest lot competes with the skate park? Its been about 7 years since I've been down that way. Also, the back entrance by Pacific Sales has a really small parking lot, but it has bathrooms and power.

Perhaps SCROC will let us use their lot? Angel's stadium is not set for us, but I just got off the phone with them and they are considering it. unfortuantely, they cannot have just an Infiniti event, since they are sponsored by Toyota + they need to see if there are bigger carities out there with more ties to the Stadium first. His community relations guy is out until monday. Ed is also looking into UC Fullerton and CSULB, both having large empty lots on the weekends.

Any other ideas we can run down?

Called the park and they said, with a Torrance resident making the reservation, it's $100 for the day and that insures 75-99 people seating. 7 years ago they had that house in the back parking lot and now it's been converted to a parking lot, which is where I was thinking. Saturday's would be OUT because they have FARMER'S MARKET. Sunday's should be cool. If a Torrance resident want to give them a call and get the details OR just be willing to be the designated TORRANCE resident, I'll call them and get further details. The lady who would handle this will be out this week and will return next week. Her name is Patsy and her number is 310.618.5982 and she's there between 8-5 M-F. Let me know. My cell is 310.818.1875 if anyone wants to discuss this further.

two difference events can work...anyway, we'll figure it out. I called and spoke to Cerritos Infiniti (pretty cool Sales Manager) and they are going to get back to me on whether they'd be interested in a partial sponsorship of this event. We'll see. My hopes is that we find a MOD friendly dealer in the SoBay that ppl feel comfortable going to. I hope Cerritos sees the potential for future biz like Grubbs did/has.

Ya, 2 events could work... Cerritos is owned by the same folks as Riverside. When approached in June, Riverside did not see the benefit of working with G owners for events or marketing.

Wel, we'll see if they are interested...on another note, I'm also looking into Ricky and Ronny's in Torrance. This place has an area designated for car clubs and meets! The guy will be getting back to me on the details soon.

November 20th sounds pretty good if it works out on Nissan's side. If it doesn't, then I suggest not doing it on the 27th, since that is the Saturday after Thanksgiving and people will be out of town [or at the USC vs. Notre Dame game like me]. Keep us informed as it sounds like a promising gathering, and thanks for putting in so much effort!

 

Great Randy, let us know how it goes with NNA. I would love to contact NNA myself, but I have a couple of huge tests coming up, I don't think I would be able to devote enough time for this event.
