Who's running TPs here in SoCal?

Any issues with the cops?

Thinking of going with Megan Resonated TPs instead of HFC (with stock exhaust)

pssst.. Ive sheard so many complaints about test pipes ,my friend is a sherrif, don't get caught with those dude.He sayd they will start charging 1K to have them removed at the Sheriffs inspection plus the ticket ( cause of the strong gas smell smog).I.M.O. they Smell bad and make your car sound like a Ricer honda stick with HFC berk's..

I used to have them, took them off for the time being. I had unresonated kinetix ones. had rasp at around 3k, but if they were resonated i'm sure that woulda helped a lot. sounded lovely, much louder. I miss it. The smell, you get used to. I'll be getting Labree resonated test pipes down the line. I dunno about the whole sherrif's dept having to remove them, but if you do get caught you are messing with emissions. They will have you take it to a state ref even if they are unsure whether it's legal or not, they made me because I didn't have paperwork for my JWT pop charger, even though I showed the carb # on the heat shield. They could fine you quite a bit as well and I doubt it's cheap.

Thats cool, Test pipes aren't for me i hate the way they make a g35 or Z sounds man sounds rice.. My friend has Kinetix on his Greddy TT exhaust for the Z n sounds horrible man like a Honda.. Maybe they have a diferent effect on diferent exhaust bro. don't take my word for it.

Yup, makes a HUGE difference what exhaust setup you're running. Every part makes a difference. Change resonators on various parts of the car or the inner diameter of the piping will make a difference. Non resonated will give it that more raspy, ricey sound.

Thats why Im looking at resonated ones, looking for the least amount of rasp and not too loud, and hopefully not too much fuel smell...

and Also I have stock exhaust, so I'm thinking it shouldnt be too loud

Won't be too loud, but will be noticeable. I had mine on stock exhaust for a little while. If a cop were to pull you over and mentions the smell or something, you just say you have an exhaust leak and you have an appointment to get it checked out.

I once told a cop I had test pipes cos he said my exhaust is loud. I told him I'm taking it off cos it's way too loud for me since I just got the muffler on and he could check the trunk for the new muffler. It looked at me like wtf u srsly just said u have test pipes? he didn't write me a ticket for it or the exhaust being loud, but gave me a no front plate ticket.

LMAO u told a cop you have test pipes, classic hahaha

You had unresonated ones, so im guessing the resonated wont be as loud as the ones you had, what do you have on now?

Juan350GT, I havent heard any good things about Kinetix TPs, and does he have unresonated ones? That might be why they sound ricey, or maybe its the combo of both...

Yeah, rather than him find out and then make an excuse I figured I'd be straightforward about it and hope he lets me off the hook, which he did.

Right now I just have a coupe midpipe and a Sebring muffler (not to be confused with a Chrysler Sebring). When I do my custom rear bumper I'll probably do a center exit exhaust. I'll have Labree test pipes and a Sebring resonator/muffler on the midpipe. The rest will be straight pipe.

Best test pipes are Motrodyne ART pipes. Proven dyno results over HFC's and conventional test pipes.
