Cop wanted to give me a tint ticket when I went for my no plates ticket WTF!!!

Seriously, is that even allowed? Wtf, I go there to get my no front plates ticket signed off and some *******s old fart is walking around outside taking care of the fix it tickets and i walk back and i see him looking at my window...
Then he says, you have tints its illegal....im like ummm I came for my front plates ticket and either way I got the car like this from the dealership...he says "i can either sign off your plate ticket and give u a tint ticket or you can leave and get your tints taken out and come back"

I would goto another station with a friend waiting in the car with the windows rolled down. Just make sure he's not smoking a blunt..
lol.. i came to get my front plate ticket signed off and i had my windows down.. cop told me to pull it up and said "stop" half way up.. She said better get that tint taken care of before you get another ticket..

Short answer, yes, he can.
I have tints on mine and I got it from the dealer like that as well. I give that excuse all the time along with that I work for the city and it gets me off the hook so far, knock on wood.
What I suggest is going to another CHP office location and get it signed off there. Keep your windows rolled down if possible. Wouldn't be so suspicious if you have a friend sitting in the car. If it's a girl, even better. Just find different locations till one signs off and doesn't give you crap for the tints.

i took mine to de soto and burbank CHP office in SFV, rolled in with my windows down and they didn't care. they were all too busy laughing at some mexican guy in an old *** pickup trying to get his front plate ticket signed off but he didn't have matching plates LOLOLOL.
I got a tint ticket from a chp on city streets at like 10 at night. So it doesnt matter who gives it to you but it sucks. cruise to the station with your windows down and park in front if possible so they dont have to get out of there desk. I parked right in front of my chp office when i got my front plate signed off he just looked and signed

Cop pulled me over for no front plates. He was behind me the whole time. Wrote me for tinted windows. Probable cause was stupid. Also, this was at AM on my way to jack in the box. Fighting this ticket next week
