30K Service in Orange County
30K Service in Orange County
My question regarding the 30k is will the Schedule 2 (minimum) be adequate to keep the G in excellent mechanical form? Everyone seems to have a polarized opinion. Either it is "all you need is a oil change" (which seems to little) or "you need the dealer recommended schedule for $900.00" (which seems way over the top). Any definitive answer on this OC?

who ever said a 30k service was worth the $900 from a dealer........besides a dealer? There are TONS of threads on 30k services, look through them & decide whether you want to pay $900 to a dealer or ~$300 to an independent mechanic or local Nissan dealer to do the exact same service.
S 854, I am aware there are TONS of threads on 30k services, I read many and that is why I wrote:

^Agreed
Every car will have parts that wear out at different intervals from others.
The 3 main services I would do (if you already follow your regularly scheduled oil changes)
Replace Diff fluid - oem
Replace Trans fluid - oem
Replace drive belts if needed - u can usually tell when they start to whistle when the car is running.
I have all my work done by a certified nissan mechanic that I trust.
Or find a good/competent local mechanic.
It has saved me plenty of time and money. I don't have the knowledge or area to DIY some of my maintenance.
I had to change my belts @ 20k (bought belts online and labor was ($30)
And recently just changed the trans/diff fluid @ 40k ($211)

Irish,
That is pretty much what I figured. I can have the stealership do it ala carte and it gets expensive fast, $150 for the coolant flush, $125 for the tranny fluid and $90 for the diff service. That is on top of the $365 Schedule 2 service at 30k.
I guess my question is do you think there has been enough wear and tear at 30k to warrant these fluid changes in the tranny, diff and coolant reservoir?

Check the service menu from Riverside Infiniti: http://www.riversideinfiniti.com/j/i...rviceMenu.html. Coolant drain & refill is recommended at 60k mile service. Drive belts and differential fluid are not included.
At 30k most likely you don't need to replace drive belts, unless there's unusual wear/damage; and coolant just need to be topped off. If you let the dealership do the service, you can just add replace differential fluid on top of the 30k service and still be way under $900 (not sure how they got this quote). Of course you can always have someone else do it for much less.

This seems more appropriate for standard 30k service.
The $900.00 quote was the list price from the "Dealer Recommended" service schedule given to me at Tustin Infiniti. I walked across the street and the service tech at Tustin Nissan said that he can do the basic 30k for around $400.00. That was the disparity that prompted me to post to begin with.
Last night I called Orange Coast Infiniti and spoke with a service advisor that took my VIN and has not gotten back to me yet. If they call back I may see if they can match this offer (to save a trip to the 909, if nothing else), if not its off to Riverside. Both G forum's I am in gush over their service so it may be worth the trip anyways.
The OC dealerships seem somewhere between indifferent and aloof at best.

try corner 3 garage in lake forest. they do service on my G. im sure they are much lower than 900 bucks for the 30k service. give em a call. ask for nima or steve. 949-380-0801
Go here.......Nima and Steve are the best.
I just had the 30k done at Infiniti of Tustin and the service from Melissa in the service department was fantastic.
I dropped it off at 9am as agreed and another G was already pulled up for me as a loaner and I was back at the office in 15 minutes. Melissa called me back at 4pm to advise me that my car was ready for pick up. I forgot my sunglasses in the passenger seat and she had that at her desk waiting for me. The car was vacuumed, washed and clean when I jumped in. She even accepted a 12% off discount coupon I found on their website but forgot to print and bring along.
I was really happy with their professionalism and I would recommend the service department at Tustin Infiniti to anyone!
