They have the same law in New Jersey. I guess it's for other cars to see you in the rain during the day. I can understand if it's pouring, but not for a light drizzle.

in Pennsylvania EVERYONE drives with their headlights on when it's rainy, it's so others can see you. I believe it's a law there, but if it's not, everyone still does it.

I still haven't figured out why CA drivers can't seem to do this... perhaps this is one reason for so many accidents in the rain (it drives me crazy looking for the cars with no headlights on when changing lanes in the rain).

Hmmm... An interesting new law, but not a big deal for me as I always turn on my head lights if it is raining [hence my windshield wipers are on]. I think the biggest cause of so many accidents in So. Cal. when it rains is because drivers refuse to slow down and hence hydroplane out of control.

This isn't a bad idea. Usually I hate these silly traffic laws. It's amazing that people still cut others off, change lanes quickly without signaling when it rains. They just don't get it.

That's odd...
Since I've moved out here, it's been my experience that as soon as the slightest drop of water hits the ground, people stomp on the brakes immediately.

What you described sounds like east coast driving.

Actually So cal people tend to speed in the rain until they lose control, then they slam on their brakes

So, if a bug splatters on my windshield, and its not raining, but I turn on my wipers to wash the windshield.........I have to turn on my lights first? Ha Ha

I heard that cat converts are now optional, and it is the right of the owners to swap in test pipes at their desire...

On a serious note, it's just another reason that let's the pigs pull you over at their will. There's so many laws out there, you're bound to be doing something wrong just driving!
