Smog question, again

I recently moved from MD back to CA. My G has a Vortech (and some light fuel mods) and has an UpRev tune. I passed emissions in MD (not saying much, i know ). I have stock cats and still have 92 octane gas in the tank. So what are my chances of passing in CA, as is?

thanks

Should be fine since the cats are still on. Does that kit come with paperwork or something that proves its legal in the states? I'm assuming a smog shop would want to see that.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep you in mind. Riverside and Fontana are about an hour drive from me.

Also, heads up, when I googled the Fontana shop, Yelp says it's "CLOSED". You might want to look into that if that's not the case.

The Vortech full kit is "CARB approved" and has a metal badge with a CARB number on it, which I assume is enough if I get my hood popped. I don't have any other crazy looking engine mods, so I should be good there. I'm more concerned about the prostate exam, where they stick the rod into the exhaust pipe

You'll be fine, I passed with Vortech and the usual fuel mods...I have stock cats also. Emission numbers were excellent, practically OEM levels.

Even with the CARB plate on the blower, a clueless cop could still send you to the CARB referee which is a nightmare. They will check for the inline fuel pump and the FPR that comes with the tuner kit, besides being a hundred times more strict on the visual inspection. Stay as inconspicuous as possible on the streets once you move over here.

Hey Robbie, yeah, bro, I remember. At the Hot Wheels car drive. Welcome to So Cal! Honestly, I haven't got the smog done yet. I just got Kinetix HFCs the other day. Couldn't get one of the O2 sensor removed from the stock cat, so now I don't have a O2 sensor hooked up (I'll never pass that way ) I have an wideband sensor in the O2 bung at the moment. I'll need a bung welded for the wideband as well. After I take care of all that, I'm going to get a new tune. Then I'll get the smog. With the "Cali" tune and Kinetix, I don't think I'll have any problems with the sniffer test. My MD plates are good until 8/2013, so I have some time I'll update soon.
