7500 miles service interval question..thanks :)

Hi all, I've had my G for about 5 months...question...my g35 is about to hit 7500 miles and wanted to get your opinions if the service is really necessary? what else does the dealership do besides change the oil? i also want to get an idea of how much this will cost so i can be prepared to talk to the service manager so he wont rip me off just b'cuz im a girl. I posted in the General Coupe but didn't get much help and i happened to see this socal forum so i figure i try this....any info is greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

Hello Yummy Yumi,

Personally, I don't know of many people that actually went to the dealership for the "7500 Mile Service". From what I remember, it is just an Oil Change for all intents and purposes... so I'd say just take in your G for a regular oil change. If you tell them it's for the 7500 mile service, they'll probably end up charging you like ~$75+ or something, when in actuality it should be NO MORE than a ~$30 oil change...

Anyone else take in their G for the 7,500 Mile Service? Or did you just do an oil change?

Mark

Hahaha... You guy's are vultures.

If you decide to go with the 7,500 miles service, take it to Infiniti Tustin.
They're very reasonable with their prices.

IMO, just do a reg. oil change, you should be fine.
Speaking of fine, flash us your mug.

yeah...i could tell. haha im just joking. Thanks for all the info. Ill stop by Tustin Infiniti and talk to them about it. Since its probably the closest dealer to me anyways. If anything i guess ill just get a regular oil change...did you guys put synthetic oil? I've been told to wait until 10k miles to put synthetic..but i've also been told the sooner the better? And Rudy im a woman! i don't know about the hot chick part.

well, if they run out of loaner cars, just post up here in the forums saying you need a ride, and you'll have a handful of Gs to choose from....

I got my 3,500 mile service done at the dealer... it was only $36 (oil and filter change, checked fluids, tires, etc.). I imagine it's about the same for the 7,500. To be safe, I would just call ahead and ask them the price... if it seems unreasonable, then just go get the oil change. (and for what it's worth, i'm a girl too and didn't get overcharged.) =P
