New undercover cops?

So i was picking up the wifey fro work the other day, exiting the 57S at Lambert. Sitting at the light I was about to make a right hand turn when a blacked out chevy S10 blazer starts laying in on the "siren" chirps. He's got Sho-Me red/blue windshield lights and red/blue blinking headlight strobes.

Cuts thru the intersection, then turns right and runs up State College where it turns into Brea Canyon Road.

No markings on the vehicle and no "E" plates.

Pretty bold move if he wasn't a cop, as there is almost always a Brea PD motorcycle sitting on the sidewalk at the corner of Lambert and State College at rush hour.

Anybody else experience this?

I seem some of those before,I think they are not city police,
more of FBI or high rank officer in the station

usually their car has no marking, but equipped with all the red blue lights a police car has. They dont' really stop cars for traffic violation, but I do still watch out for one of those Chevy, Ford suspecious looking car on the road

In addition to "E" plates, I have seen numerous plates starting with a "1" rolling in unmarked late model crown vics with red-n-blues in the front and rear window (light bar). Did the license plate start with a "1"?

I would also have to agree with KPC, that dem be higher ranking offisars.

At least they weren't pulling you over..

"1" is only for gov plates.. i know this cause a friend of mine had his shipping trucks plate

"1A#####"
"1B#####"
"1C#####"
etc.. i think he had up to F or G after the 2nd letter it was all random

it wasnt until one of his cars were pulled over did the courts tell him to change it tho. i remember him saying it was strictly for the federal gov

this was like 5-6 years ago tho lol

Cool. Thanks for the explanation.. I always wondered what those stood for.

Anyway, I saw one of these unmarked crown vics (with the "1" plates) pull some car over on the 133 connector between the 241 toll & 5 fwy (in the O.C.) about 2 years ago and just figured it was some undercover coper. The lights were on and everything, maybe the guy was wanted for crimes other than speeding.. oh well

Ted Yes Ive seen them Yes Ive been pulled over!

By the S10, Saburban, F150, Dodge Ram, a fe others too. Dont ask me why but I have. All have been unmarked reg plates. They are part of an elite task force I see them all the time in Down Town LA. Its a gang force unit but they have now developed a street racers unit thanks to the fast and furious law passed a few years back.

I got pulled over after HIN No I wasnt racing the cop just couldnt see in the car....

these guys are everywhere. Out by my place, there's a few of these guys. All Federal, (DEA, FBI)kind of guys and gals. I suppose they could be State as well, but not likely local PD cuz they just go with the CrownVic.

Arrow long time ago...

there used to be this black dodge ram that would prowl the 55 southbound carpool lane. this was a few years ago, around 97-98, and i'm not sure if they do it anymore.
