Wait, I was going to borrow my friends 3-point harness because as you well know, the sedan seats suck **** for bolstering. I don't get how a harness that holds you in better than a stock seat belt can cause massive head and neck injuries upon a rollover. Please explain to this noob!

Because the harness does such a fine job at holding you in place (especially those employing 4 or more points), the head and subsquently the neck has no choice but to come into contact with the collapsing roof in a very bad way. With the conventional seatbelt system, your body is allows plenty of compliance to lean of too one side natually, minimizing head and neck trauma.

Oh I get it now. Learn something new everday. If there was a roll cage it would prevent the roof from collapsing, thus negating the cons of harnesses. Guess I'll just have to risk that small chance then.

Early!!!

I just checked the weather and it's not looking too kindly. The chance for a shower is likely (50%)!!!

Son of a Gun! We may have to cancel. How does California Speedway (Roval config) just 3 weeks later sound everyone???

We need to make this decision fast ... today! So, we will hopefully only lose $50 towards the next event.

I vote to cancel.

I'm not sure I'd be willing to gamble the chances. No wet driving for this guy. There's a $50 deduction for canceling no later than 5 days prior to the event. After that we'll loose 50%!!! We're technically on the 4 day period ... so we needing to act fast and see if could spring for the $50 hit.

What on earth was this rain doing here?!?!? ... was looking so good. Ughhhhhhhhh!!!

Yeah,
That'll suck if it does rain but I'm willing to take a chance at it. If it doesn't rain it'll be all good.

It certaintly wouldn't be like the time I went to streets of willow during the Mega rain. That was bad.

I'll play the optimist... I'm still in if the consencus is Yea!

I just fired off an e-mail to Aaron at Speed Ventures on behalf of all of us, giving him our intention to withdraw and apply the credit (penalty unknown at this point) towards the next event.

Tony,
Looks like I just missed your post. If you, or anyone else, would like to chance it ... feel free to e-mail them back stating you'd like to re-enter.

Clint

OK,

So how many would still want to even consider it?

I should say ... it wouldn't hurt to wait as long as possible (2 days to go) before deciding to let them know you are in fact interested in tracking.

If we can get away with minimum penalty then let's wait a day or two more to see how the weather shapes up. Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll only be cloudy. But if it's imperative that we cancel right now to avoid any costly penalties then by all means, postpone it for a couple more weeks for Cal Speedway. I for one do not want to drive in the rain.

the forecast this morning on weatherbug is for 30% chance of rain. I don't know how they come up with those percentages, or whether they really bear any rational relationship to what can truly be expected, but I have noticed that the forecast went from 50% chance to slight chance to now 30% chance......I suspect that it may have to do with watching a major front many miles away at sea by satellite, and as its irregular path changes it then impacts the percentages of where and how forcefully it impacts a particular region. I think that the bottom line is that there is a chance it may rain, which cannot be ruled out. But it is likely to be less than 50%. Unfortunately if you do not want to run in the rain, and the forecast is only 1% chance, if that chance happens it is 100% what you do not want and it ruins your day. I personally am not thrilled at the prospect of running in the rain, but I am not put off to the point of scrubbing the day. We all know that the number of forecasts for rain we have, matched against the reality, is that an awful lot of the time it does not happen. Certainly the number of times they forcast no rain, and then it rains, is about nil!!! We are almost out of the window of rain chances for the entire summer. So, I am going to take a chance and tootle up there.

Clint,
Did he mention what the cut off point was? (2 days?) I have no problem waiting untill the last moment.

For now, I'm getting all my stuff ready for a go.
