What F1 race?????

anyone watched the U.S. Grand Prix? it was anything but 'GRAND'.....6 cars in the starting grid.....hmmmm.....

with all the 2005 rule changes for the engines and tires(or how they say it 'tyres')...it's becoming a very interesting(or uninteresting) year for the F1....

it sucks all those crowd only got to see 6 cars 'race' while 14 of the Michelin shod cars pulled in to pits...Toyota got the pole for the race but decided to retire the cars because of the tires....what the hell???????

oh well, at least Michael Schumacher won his first victory of the season...

ya i was watching that. Huge loss for Michelin. What was wrong with the tires that they were unraceable?

because of the bank turns at the turn 13, the Michelins kept blowing up....Michelin said they could not guarantee the tires will not punture thru the turns and asked to put in additional turn to slow down the cars....didn't quite fly with the teams with Bridgestone tires...so no go for the Michelins..

Perhaps they should finally limit some of that downforce that they hang onto so dearly. It would leave them with a lighter tire load and bring down the speeds quite a bit. Though, it would seem to me that Michelin needs to step up to the challenge and build a better tire as well....

I used to root for Michelin, but now I am a Bridgestone fan. hahahaha. Just to think if I had raced my G35 in there I would have won 7th place, not bad.

1. The F1 already did reduce downforce on 2005 machines by mandating several aero designs on the cars...i.e. the front/rear wings....
2. bring down the speed??? oh come on....this ain't no NASCAR race with restrictor plate racing....they need to go faster.
3. Michelin did screw up with their set of tires, but i think the teams should have at least run the race...even at a slower pace to keep the tires from blowing up, but then again, when you're racing a $14million racing car with drivers who cost alot more than that, it's a tough decision....
