I always check my rearview mirror for crown vic/caprice style headlights as well as the shadow lines on the roofs for the outline of the lights (they are trying to go low pro now). When I suspect a car, I immediately let off the gas and coast till they get closer and I can verify what it is.

eek man that sucks.
i got a ticket for 75 in a 40 and it was about $510.
Just paid it, and did online traffic school..it's a breeze, only takes about 30 mins.
However, paying $510 is not a breeze. but **** happens man.
try to fight it! my friend gets tickets all the time and just reschedules his court appointments a couple times and by the time he actually goes in the cop doesn't show and he gets off free. good luck!
