Joined the Speeding-Ticket-Club Tonight!!!

Yes, i'm one of the members now.

Hi. I'm Andrew. I am a speeder.

So i'm going up the 5 North heading home.
3:30AM.
I'm cruisin along. A pack of cars behind me. A car about 10 carlengths ahead of me. I'm in the second lane next to the fast lane. I then check my rear-view to see flashing lights.

I start to slow down. I'm about to stop at the shoulder, but the CHP blurts out "GET OFF AT THE WASHINGTON EXIT" So i get off and cop tells me to stop at the curb. I shut off the car, put the keys on the passenger seat.

CHP: What's the hurry, son?
MEECHIN: I just wanna go home officer.
CHP: Well, u were going 90 in a 55. We were followin you from the 605. Thought you might break 100.
MEECHIN: I honestly didn't know i was going that fast. I'd never go 100... never
CHP: License, Registration and Insurance?
MEECHIN: *hands over stuff*

minutes pass...

CHP: Why does your car have NISSAN SKYLINE all over it when it's an INFINITI?
MEECHIN: *smirk* In JAPAN, this car is a NISSAN. Just paying homage officer and trying to be unique.
CHP: *gives me a dumbfounded WTF look* Please sign here.
MEECHIN: Wow, so i'm actually gettin a ticket. This sux. *signs*
CHP: Make a U-turn, onramp will be to your left. Slow down, son. You may be tired but get home in one piece, ya hear?
MEECHIN: Thank you.

I let them take off first. Then continue on home.
Ticket reads 90 in a 55.
They were most likely pacing me. Radar detector DID NOT go off.
Luckily, i wasn't busted for anything else. (no front plate, modified parts, etc)

I already know it's bad.
So let's hear it. I need advice, support, and laughs as well.

Thanks,
Dru

ouch. in one of the tickets i got off of the officer also asked me about my badging. he said he drove a coupe too and loved the transmission and was wondering where i got my skyline badges. i told him and then he let me go . good luck with the ticket. remember, you need both your eyes AND a radar detector if you want to avoid getting pulled.

My name is Jeremy, and I am a speedaholic.
Sadly, I have two violations this year, can't wait to see what my insurance is going to change to.

Moral of the story: Rebadging gets you tickets J/K. Maybe you hit a soft spot with the fella...and he thought "oh no, another import tuner"....

I bet he hates his life with all those hondas and acuras racing down the freeways...and that is why I will never want to be associated with that thus keepin my classy Infiniti badges.

Anyways man thank god you never passed 100, that would've opened up a whole new can of worms (felony-wreckless driving, could've taken you to jail IF he wanted to, yada yada...)

P.S. What a jerk..."pacing you till you hit 100"....was it an unmarked car?

No... it was a full on CHP cruiser. All the bells and whistles.
He didn't have doughnut on his breath. CHP has more class than local pigs.

I always check my rearview mirror for crown vic/caprice style headlights as well as the shadow lines on the roofs for the outline of the lights (they are trying to go low pro now). When I suspect a car, I immediately let off the gas and coast till they get closer and I can verify what it is.

Goodluck man.

Sorry to hear Dru, maybe you should join the Sukairain School of Granny Driving. I got 3 tickets since I bought the car and narrowly escaped with two more. I have a Valentine-1 but it won't save you everytime. (but probably saved me 20 times already)

No worries though, fight the ticket with Dizz's directions and you might get lucky. IT WORKS!

That's a pretty heavy ticket. 90 in a 55 is 35 over which is reckless I believe. The ticket is going to cost around $500. Hopefully you'll get traffic school. You might even get a 1 month suspension. That cop just had no sympathy for you.

No sympathy whatsoever. I'm sure it would have helped if i was a hot chick with a nice rack with cleavage. Insted, i'm just some gook going fast in his car.

We'll see what happens. I just played it cool. Wasn't a smartass or a dick. He never mentioned about a radar gun or whatnot, so it'll be his word vs mine. We'll see...

Dru, when they pulled over aliG they asked me "did he get his car imported from Japan? i saw a skyline on tv the other day.."
im like "um, if it was imported from japan, i would be getting the ticket, not him (since it would have been right-hand drive)" i think he got insulted...

anyhow, i got a ticket on 6/9 for doing 69 in a 50... so dont feel bad, were all getting hit. we should all jump Khurram, he got pulled over for 102 and didnt get cited!

go to court, try to get traffic school.

good luck man...

definitely request a deposition and fight it.

Sorry to hear that man. It's not like you were doing something unsafe on the freeway.
