:SEMI-SPOILER:

So the aliens created shields, giant walking robots, pods that travel down lightning, but forgot to invent heat/IR scanners. HUh!?
-- also, what does "Eatting bad stuff" have to do with the robot's shield's going down?

... maybe I need to read the book to get this info

I just wait for the movies to come out on video. My 2 year old son won't sit for too long watching a movie(unless it's the acceleracers movies). And we can't find anybody to watch him when we do (when we don't want to they all want to watch him)want to go out.

I am really bummed out by what all of you are saying about WotW. I was so looking forward to seeing it since I really haven't seen a great movie this summer, yet, including Batman Begins. I am so disappointed in Hollywood and the movies they've been putting out. It seems they feel if they put a few big stars in the movie people will come out to see it. They take us all for idiots. Best movie I saw this year so far is Cinderella Man. But, since there's nothing else to see and I'm a huge movie freak, I'll probably waste $40.00 and see WotW and end up posting what a dissappointment it was.

So...some of you guys actually still thought it wasn't bad, huh? I thought it was pretty much of a waste of money.

The only credit I'd give it is that despite it not being a "ghost" movie...I still got pretty tense a few times when it'd just get kinda silent, then BOOM!!!

Otherwise, totally sucked. For those that are/were planning to check this one out...I'd highly recommend you wait for video/DVD...save yourself some $$$. ^-^

second, WTF WAS W THE WRECKED G35 AT THE END...BOO!

The signifigance of the birds toward the end of the movie was to show that their shields were down. Previously, the birds wouldn't have been able to land on the "tripods."
