dealership question re: modifications
dealership question re: modifications
the left side speakers on my car are cutting out every so often. if i bring in my modded car will the dealership take note of the mods even though they have nothing to do with the stereo and put them into the infiniti dealership database?
i'm pretty sure its just a loose wire because they tend to cut out if i brake hard... too bad they don't come back on when i gas it..

Eldy, as far as i know, if the problem is not related to your radio, they cant do anything. Plus take it to someone you know at a dealership.
PM me and i will tell you who to talk to at Miller Infiniti.
But if you have an Intake, they dont give a crap about it. The dealers are starting to sell them anyways.

The thing about mods is they will know what you have even if you bring it in for something else... Will they make note of it for future? I doubt it but some might (just guessing)? I suggest (as another post stated) develop a relationship with the service team or at least a tech. I have a trusted tech (will remain nameless) that will validate warranty issues if they arise (even if mod related). Some are performance oriented and will help you out, others are "company men" that will do as instructed and might not have your back. It’s a no-brainer which one gets my business.
Talk to the tech, and service manager - if they do a good job let them know. If they don't, don’t return. Eventually (and it shouldn’t take long) you will find the right place that you won’t have to be concerned (too much) about mods and warranty.
In the interim... they can’t refuse warranty issues if your mods have nothing to do with the problem.
~ Good luck.

I'm sure Discover Infiniti is well aware of my mods.
