Yea, I vote for SoCal Gs. I'm in Irvine and the San Bernardino area a lot. But yea, SD is far

C'mon guys. Let's stick to the topic and stop with all the name calling. There's already way too much of that stuff on this board right now. Use PMs if you have issues with someone.

Touching on some of the names:

So Cal G's - I put it up, but not sure if it's really gonna work. It makes it sound more like a team than a group. Let me know if you change your mind and I'll change your vote.

club so.cal G - Not using because it doesn't really make any sense. Keep looking and saying it and you'll see what I mean.

SoCal Skyline35s - Not using this because I don't think our group as a whole wants to be represented by the JDM name.

It shouldn't be a lot. I have to talk to a couple different sources, but should be between $5-10 for both sides. But we'll have to wait until a name is chosen.

SCGOA... yes it exists, and G35Lin started it waaaaay back when. But then the name thing comes up and everyone wants to change it to something else.

Then the discussion of "dues" or fees comes up. Mainly because the guy who starts it is always asked to provide stickers and stuff, which costs $$. The first year was free and then Eddie decided to start putting his extra $$ and time into Team Transport.

SCGOA wasn't meant to be a crew or team, just an extension of G35driver (regionally) I was pushing for some discounts with the Infiniti dealers locally and some other stuff, but there didn't seem to be much of an interest in it.

Discussions on SCGOA
In the beginning...Sept 03

Logo discussions...Feb 04

Back again...April 2004

SCGOA "Big meet"

One last try that went to hell in a handbasket <=== Chosen...check out the first post in this one.

Good luck and I'll be happy to be a part of it if you get it going. Let me know.

Cheers, ted

SoCalTed, thanks for the info. Very enlightening. SCGOA seems like everything I was looking for, but I'm curious as to why it didn't work out.

How else is anyone gonna recognize you? What would you sport?

I wanna be able to distinguish a group member from some average G driver who doesn't care about fellow G drivers.

I think some people might not want to put any decals on their Gs. How about license plate frames? Does anyone know where or how to make custom plate frames?

The frames are a possiblity, I can look into that. But then again, someone won't wanna run it because they already have a frame, like the chrome "Infiniti" ones sold at the dealerships.

I think having a group is pointless if you're not willing to be visible to other members. I don't really care how we recognize each other, but I have to say it's pretty pertinent.
