speeding ticket problem/question

alright so i went out to the san fernando courthouse today for my speeding ticket...and im thinking that place is way too far for it to be the courthouse i was supposed to go to (at least a 25 min drive). So after waiting in line for 40 minutes the woman behind the desk goes back to her supervisor and it does turn out that the cop put down the wrong courthouse. She tells me that she is going to transfer my case to another courthouse and she is giving me a 30 day extension because the courthouse is too far for the cop to come...ok so im thinking to myself and out loud to her, this is STUPID, its his fault, hes the one who put down this courthouse...well there was nothing i could do after much arguing, so now i have to go another courthouse and seek a trial there (which means 2 more trips now)...what im wondering is, is there any way I can get out of this ticket because of this screw up, im going to seek a trial and hope the cop doesnt show but they took 3 hours out of my day today and that is ridiculous, even for the bad rap they receive...so does anyone have any good advice, id appreciate it greatly
thanks again

I don't think you were going to court for your appearance, where you? I think you were just going to "plead" and get your court date? If that's the case, you got nothing. What did the courtesy letter say that they sent you (about 25 days before requiring you to plead/go to court)

If you had already plead and received your court date and were instructed to go to the wrong court house, it is actually the court's fault, not the officer. You will get no love and will just get reschedule with the Clerk's apology if you are lucky.

If this was your appearance... why didn't you try and reschedule it at least once?! MAN!, that's SOP around here. Most officers schedule their court days so they coincide with their days off.. that way they get overtime. Never settle for the first date! When you plead "not guilty" or request a hearing, the court will always give the officer notice so that he/she can arrange to be in court to represent The People.

BTW, is this a 22350 violation...or a 22351? If it's a 22350 and you were going 64 or less, PM and I'll give you some good info use on your "next" court date. BTW.. you can do a lot of the pleading and rescheduling by phone or online with the L.A. Court system now! Check out:

ok first off, thanks a lot for your help socalted, its appreciated

I wasnt going to court for my actual trial, this was going to be so i can see the judge and plead not guilty in hopes the cop wont show. This is a 22351, i was above 65. I have to go back to court in a month and plead there. So from there i will receive the court date. oh and btw, i have a trial in a week . but yea this one intrigues me because of the wrong courthouse etc. if i can in any way use that against the cop if there is a trial.
thanks again for the help
