Canyon Run 09/11/05....ACH
Ok guys let's start a new thread since we have to postpone it.
Date: 09/11/05 (SUNDAY) DATE CHANGED TO SUNDAY
Time: The earlier the better 8AM is my vote minimal traffic anything later will be a bummer to many cars by then.
Place: ACH
Meeting Place:Verdugo just a little off Foothill and less than a mile from ACH
You guys suggest a place where we can meet before heading out. Bring your 2 way radio's since cell phones might not work in them hills. And most important of all remember the rules of engagement.
If anyone gets pulled over DO NOT STOP FOR WHATEVER REASON. It is best to keep going because if you stop you will get a ticket. Use the radio to hook up back with the group. We will wait at the next stop just CHILL and don't be breaking any sound barrier trying to catch up.
If anyone gets in trouble flat, spins out, hit a guard rail, fly off a cliff please pull off and do not block the road.
Remember this is suppose to be a fun weekend drive to relax so please keep your speed down we are not set to qualify for any race. CHILL!!
Bring your own water and nic-nacs or whatever this will be a 2 hr run. Fill up your tank before going up the hill gas is expensive when you get futher up.
Watch everyone's back those with radar please let the group know before we all get pulled over.
If you see anything unusual with the car in front of you let us know SAFETY is priority. Check your cars the night before make sure you guys have oil and your car running normally. Use common sense if you think your car is not running right do not go it's not worth all the trouble. There will always be other runs.
Here is the sign up sheet copy and paste please.

alright guys i live less than a mile from the crest...its almost up the street from my house...lotta my friends live on it...anyways its in la canada (in b/n pasadena and glendale for those who dont know)..it doesnt get too much traffic so i dont know if you really want to do it so early but thats up to you all...i wont be doing the entire two hour run...thats a lottt of driving and miles but ill do a good portion of it...im pretty familiar w the crest and there are great places for us to park and take pictures if you guys want...i went to an acura meet a week or so ago and we had a blast (i was the only g tho haha)..oh and btw your phones will NOT get service there..for a meeting spot before the crest run i strongly suggest the united artists parking lot...its on verdugo just a little off foothill and less than a mile from angeles crest. The Crest is a beautiful place and is really fun to drive.

As i was saying, i know the crest pretty well and we can take pictures if you guys want..There are a number of good places to park the cars..and yea i wouldnt suggest speeding up there...lot of cops there. When my friend had an evo8 he went up there and got something like 6 citations and an m3 got impounded and a couple of bikes etc. so yeah not too smart to excessively speed...this run sounds like a lot of fun, hope to get a few more cars though...sedans and coupes
If anyone has any questions pm me or write back on this thread, want to get a good run together as im sure these other guys do too like glennp. alright c ya

Just ran Angeles Crest Hwy a few days ago with SoCaTed (to LACR)... great drive!
It might get a little bogged down with so many cars though - There were only two on our run so passing a couple of cars was feasible at once... It would look cool to have a bunch of Gs caravanning (arial shot would be hot!)
I just get too frustrated driving slow... especially on a fun ride like that!
Have fun guys ~ look forward to hearing how it went

DoH! ... I'm fairly certain I'm booked for the 10th (will have to double check my calendar at home).
Any chance we do this on the 11th instead? Sunday morning is actually the more ideal time for carving the canyons.
