Did anybody in irvine see some kind of aircraft flying through the sky at a VERY VERY fast speed leaving this trail behind it that was kind of a rainbowish color?

Just curious. i was out walking the dogs and saw this thing flying thorugh the sky. It must have been very high because you couldn't really see an aircraft, just the streak it left. But even so it was travelling extremely fast. It didn't seem like the streaks left by jet aircraft either, the line was much finer and thinner except when it went through a cloud it was dissipated and covered a really large area. I don't really know how to explain it...

I was walking on Harvard near Warner around 7:30. Pretty cool sight to see.

 

My friend told me about this. WTF?

 

We all saw it at the Chino Hills meet. Damn aliens and their flying saucers!

i saw it today when it happened in glendale...we all got out of class and i see everyone stopped and looking in the direction and im like ok its prolly something stupid and i look and im like HOLY SHT

 

yea i noticed that too over in riverside, it was dark outside except for the swirly looking cloud that was illuminated..... they're among us...

 

I saw the same thing it looks like a rocket left that trail. Did you guys see the second stage burn that it created? That was trippy thing to see talk about vapor trail.

 

yep.. i was up in PV when i saw it.

friend and i decided it was a multiple stage rocket cause it had a two stage burn like glenn said..

Came in to work today and the guys here told me that it was a satellite being launched from some facility in Santa Maria.. So I guess the whole of Southern California saw the vapor trail left behind. It was cool though because I saw the actual satellite flying through the sky. Probably not something you get to see often!

Yeah, I've seen this a couple of times from Temecula, probably coming from Camp Pendleton. And I saw and felt it when I used to work at Vandenburg A.F.B. The first time I saw this from Temecula, I was driving home and noticed the rainbowy colored trail and the object traveling at a high rate of speed. I was like, WTF! I didn't see lastnights though. And I don't think I've ever actually seen the 2 stage portion, must've been really cool.
