sways by street image/dealership problem
sways by street image/dealership problem
alright so i got my sways in just about a month ago at street image and i had mando install them...well they came kinda loose (front left tire) but i didnt think it was the sways i thought it was a spring issue...so i went to glendale infiniti and waited 3 hours for it to be serviced
...well eventually they came back and theyre like "do you have suspension work on it?" im like uh i have sways, they go "that voids the cars warranty, but we'll let this one slide" so im like whatever...guess i should have just taken it back to street image...those guys were dicks for giving me that bs after waiting 3 hours to tighten some god damn bolts...so quick question...i could swear it wouldnt, but does it void the cars warranty? i still think it was bs but now im not sure

No it doesn't. Do your sways have anything to do with your bose headunit or your AC? They can maybe try to say that it'll void the warranty on some components of your suspension but in no way will it affect the warranty on other parts of your car. C'mon! a little common sense man

i went to tustin infiniti for a clicking problem. i had hotchkis on at the time, and they caused the bushing to come loose and they replaced it without asking anything.
i'd go there if u have mods.

FAWK Glendale Infiniti. They have no idea what they are doing. They see any mod and they say your warranty is void. If you had an air freshner in your car, they would probably say that voids your warranty. I swear those fawkers suck. Plus they dented my car there as well.
the place is nice itself and i talked to a new dealer there who was really cool but yea their service sucks and i waited for 3 f'in hours to tighten my god damn bolts on sways...thats ridiculous

it's the damn collars that need to be put on the hotchkis or else they'll come loose again AND start squeaking over bumps.
i read the whole thread about how hotchkis wrote that it did not require the collars, but they're completely wrong. everyone i know has collars on them.
it's not street image's fault. mando does a thorough job on installs.

when u do a search for hotchkis collars, the thread will provide you with the website for the collars and the part #'s for front and rear collars.
without the collars, the swaybars move sideways and all the lubrication comes off the bushings and u start hearing the squeaking noise and it'll also loosen the whatever that got loose in ur car.
yea so the problem was directly a result of the sways.

ok so technically, everyime they start to come loose, all i will have to do is tighten the bolts, is that right? sorry for the questions, thanks for your help aznteaser
Don't worry John, you'll know when they're loose.
After you get your ST installed, when the steering wheel shakes like your hands did after your number was called at the raffle, you'll know that your bolts are loose on your sway bars.
HAHAHA j/k man.
Guys, it's hit and miss for the collars.
I personally don't have them, and have noticed an issue so far.
Only weird noises that i hear from my car is interior rattles.
That and people screaming as they crawl up the seats while i drive.

i remember it was the sway bar linkage that came loose. it had to be replaced cuz it got damaged.
dammit dru, ur car is dropped on HKS coils with full suspension kit and rims, so i dont think ur sways dont even need to do any work, therefore no problems for u

I have the Hotchkis sway bars with the Mcmaster-Carr collars. I haven't had any problems with the sways, and Mondo at Street Image installed them for me. Here a link on the product info. - http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthre...t=hotchkis+fix. Hope this helps.
