amazed and dazed and pissed

I just can't stop thinking about what happened this morning. Basically the story is this...

I was late thing morning...going 83mph in 70mph limit zone, traveling south bound on 14. I passed Ave H exit around 5:20 in the morn. I saw the lights come on the patrol car from the dirt center divider and I knew they were after me. So I pulled over. A few seconds later all of sudden, I heard smashing sound and my car moved forward and jerked back. Oh, I was eeeerated. A female CHP got out and yelled at her top of lungs, "you never pull out to left-you always pull over to right" Well, The way she was on my butt and other traffic behind me I made the decision to pull to the left. Nonetheless, that doesn't give her the right to rear end me-especially my G!!! She didn't even ask me if I was ok. She still gave me a ticket and had another CHP car come and write an accident report. There were total 3 CHP patrol cars involved in this accident-people passing by must have thought I was a serious criminal

As far as damages go, there are several paint cracks from the impact and a chunk of paint fell off of the rear bumper, and a dent near the license plate. I notified my insurance USAA and since it isn't at my fault accident, I will get those fixed by CA state. Now, I think I should contest. Rear ending CHP won't change the fact I was speeding, but how professional was she to run over me like that? And she didn't even apologize, instead, yelling at me all she could. Well, I've been through BMT and all, so that didn't really intimidate me. Only stupid butt people like she does.

wouldn't it be safer if he pulled to the left... seeing as how she could of easily avoided traffic because the traffic was on his right side of the car soooo she didnt have to worry about avoiding traffic and hitting her ***...

that sucks about the damage but i hope all ends well, good luck!

That CA cop sounds just like every NJ cop I encountered, rude with no courtesy.... last time I got puled over was in NJ on turnpike and I did pull over to the left, as it was 4 lanes of traffic and I was in the left lane, but still there are 2 shoulders for a reason. I guess the fine wont be much as you werent speeding a lot, but if it was I think you could have won in court since its very easy to prove the cop was not on top of her game, probably half sleeping sucking on a doughnut. Either way this sucks the G got hit, hope it all works out in the end.

no, you're always suppose to pull over on the right shoulder, not left.
it's actually quite dangerous to pull over on the left since you're next to the passing lane which cars travel at faster rate of speed than on the right. they always stand right side of the car once they get out and plus if something were to go wrong, you'd have all the space on your right to move over....

sux about the damage on the car, hope everything works out.

Sorry guys. I had been side tracked on this thread. Here are some pictures of the demages. The first pic has big chunk of paint chip and sec one has a dent and crack on the surface of the paint. Now I have paid my deductible, but I will get it back since it wasn't at my fault accident. I wanted to fix the demage as soon as possible. A Couple days later from the accident, the CHP had nerve to call me at work and asked me," the demage you are trying to repaire isn't caused by the accident, right?" I was thinking I am dealing with CHP here. They are dead from neck and up. So I just told her It was caused by the accident and if she has any doubt about that, then I will see her at court. I haven't heard anything from her since.

By the way, the demage was $680. Because of the furface paint crack near the license holder, the whole bumper cover was getting replaced and painted.

Too Bad that SUCKS! I woulda Rolled out the Car Moaning and Mumbling My Neck And My Back! Call a personal injury attorney and see if they will take the case. Working for the City of LA I know we have Deep pockets to pay for our jackass drivers when they hit someone else. Only Problems is you get the run Around An Investigator follows you around taking pictures and it takes A LONG LONG time to get your Money. Go to court on this and see if The Judge will dismiss the Ticket under the Circumstances. Well Good Luck and thank God You were not Seriously Hurt.
