Hot M5 Race

Had a great race this evening against an M5 - 1-2 years old. We raced 4 times. I won 2x he won 2x - but I think he really spun his tires one of the times off the line. The other time I didn't get on it until 2nd gear (rolling surprise start) - and that was the start of the fun.

Each time we raced, he got in front of me by about 1.5 to 2 cars in first gear, then I took over in 2nd and kept creeping forward. By the time we hit about 100MPH - we were either even or I/he was just about a bumper in front of each other. The rolling start sucked, because he was fully on it before I even knew he was there - then I just went after him.

I've always wanted to go against and M5 - I waste M3's all the time, but was impressed that I could solidly keep up with him - if not a dead even race in the end.

Here's my build -
05 G35C IP- PerfKit-Aero/StillenCAI and Sways/UDP/BorlaEx/3.92Gears/NismoCams-Heads/TransKit-TC/.5" MDYNE Spacer...more

That M5 driver must suck in driving stick. Either that or he is just toying with you I don't see how with the present mods on your car can keep up with a well driven M3 let alone and M5. But then again what do I know hope you did it in a drag strip and not in public. Peace.

I don't know guys - I've been racing and building cars for years and years - I had an M5 about 8 years ago too, which is why I've been wanting to race one - my car is very strong with the drive-train and engine mods that have been done.

I know when someone is racing or toying - I do it too. He was chirping through 3rd gear and had his girlfriend in the car - so he was not going to 'try' and loose.

I think the races were authentic - and yes, I do beat M3's with no real issue, so an M5 would be a great challenge.

Sorry no video - it was on the street - unplanned - he found me not the other way around.

What is the stall on your TC? If it is a torque converter where did you get it and how much.

tell what? you have to remember that the car won't fully engage lockup until that rpm, so at slower speed it may seem like the car is sluggish, where it really needs more rpms to roll to begin with.

drive or manual mode doesn't change that fact.

You"re kidding right? Have you driven one? I have so I know it's impossible. The G is about as heavy if not heavier with less HP even with mods.
