small dent and scratch repair

well thanxs to the 5 fwy i got my first scaring on the car. well im trying to get an idea of how much this will cost to fix and what is a good shop to take too in my area. first here are some pixs, the dent is about 1.25 in diameter and the scratch completely took a nice chunk of paint to the metal and smaller scratches arent deep but is almost as long as the passenger door.

sorry for the poor camera phone pixs.

Ouch that hurts...I drive on the 5 every single day. Probably the same way as you since you're coming from El Monte. I would ask your insurance and see if it's covered as comprehensive and find out what's your deductible. If it's just the dent your concerned about, get a Paintless Dent Removal done. Call up New Century BMW and ask when the PDR guy's in. He'll charge no more than $75 for that small dent.

Are they planning on painting the entire door or spot painting it? Like I said, if you're not bothered by the scratches, just get the PDR for less than $75. They might even be able to buff the scratches to make it less noticable. Doesn't hurt to go and ask

If you don't want to drop $500 go the PDR route, then touch up paint and wet sand - that might be a less expensive alternative for you.

^ the dent - I was driving south on the 5 near Los Feliz and on the fwy, im guessing was a 2x4 about 3 feet long (i saw it for a split second) so i moved to the left to get out of the way and i guess i ran over it just at the right spot to flip up and hit right on my door. im guess its a 2x4 cause of the pattern of the hit, it must of hit the dent first and then the top portion to scratch the door.

well M1 said they will remove the dent pant the area and also blend it to the fender. idk if they are painting the whole door tho. but they said blend the paint.
