Question anyone have hook-ups with laptops or monitors?

just like the title states...

my dell flat panel 19" monitor went out, and since it's going to cost quite a bit to fix, might as well either upgrade to a bigger one or buy something along the lines of the same thing...

another thing, i'm either going to buy a new monitor or a laptop. But does anyone have any hook-ups to a store in the los angeles area or online?

let me know, thanks guys and gals!

I monitor www.gotapex.com for Dell deals. They link to the best Dell deals (direct from Dell of course), and also update with current coupon codes. I picked up a 20.1 widescreen LCD for around $330 a few weeks ago, and a
24" widescreen LCD for around $700 about 2 months ago.

How did the monitor die? On a laptop, replacing the flat ribbon cable or the power inverter usually can bring monitors back to life for a cool $30.

eldy - actually my monitor on my desktop went out. when connected to the power supply, the green light turns on and off, on and off, and the screen looks like it turns on for like less than half a second and it goes black again.

i took it to this one shop nearby but they didnt give me an exact quote and just said with the money you spend to fix it, you can buy a new one... so here i am.

either i'll get a new monitor or a new laptop. not unless you guys know of a trusted place I can get my monitor fixed for a good price.

should i try the geek squad(i beleive that's how they are called) @ the good guys? worth a shot right?
