Alignment Help

Alright, I'm kinda still new, and this is my first thread that I'm starting...so go easy on me . (I'm more of a lurker on this forum)

I just did a mild drop on my G. I've gone to 2 places to get an alignment done, and both places did not have the G35 on their alignment computers. I'm glad that both places were honest enuf to bring this up, instead of just using I35 or G20 without me knowing. Anyone else run into this?

Does anyone know where I can get a legit alignment for our G's in the north OC area? I live in Fullerton, so the closer the better. I have 2 lil monsters, so it's hard for me to get away for long periods of time .

ANY advice is appreciated!

BTW - I love this forum so far. My drop, if anyone cares, is Z springs front - coupe springs back.

Big O has the G35 info. I havent taken my car in yet, but mostly it's because I'm too lazy.

I've had it done at Autobacs too. Theyre okay My car tracks straight. Too bad the steering wheel is cocked a little to the right.

steering wheel cocked to the right is normal for our cars. hand alignment sucks imo, i got a hand alignment after i dropped my car and it just didn't feel right so i took it to autobacs and the specs before autobacs aligned it was way off.

+1 the old guy that does cars is GOOD! they also have a truck guy too

and our steering wheel should be straight.. when doing an alignment you'll need a brake pedal lock and a steering wheel lock.. depending on how you lock the steering wheel is the position it will be in when the wheels are straight..

if you just dropped it your toed in and camber is negative (result = faster wear on the inner part of the tire with some feathering.. or in english: the inner part of your tires going to hell).. if its just a mid drop you should be able to get back into spec or to the very edge of it (which is still fine). if you want perfect then you might get a bolt kit.

if you want the specs i'll go pull them up from school tomorrow so your local alignment shop can do it.. (if ur doing a regular alignment (not custom specs) any shop will be able to get you back into specs without a problem)

Give WestEnd Alignment a call.. they're great guys and worked on VERY low cars so they know how to get it up on the lift and get the job done.. they also do custom specs with aftermarket suspension. 310-808-9233

I believe Firestone (a number of different locations around socal) should also be able to align the G. They also have a one time cost deal where you can get as many alignments as you need.

Thanks for all the advice!!! I feel a lot better now...I was worried about getting hazed as a newbie.

I really do appreciate everyone's response. I'll def look into everyone's suggestion. If last comes to last, I believe there's a Big-O right by me. I'll probably try to get the alignment this weekend, so I'm still open to more suggestions.

What about Firestone? Don't they do a good job? They also offer a lifetime alignment where you can go in to any Firestone shop to have your alignment done every 6,000 miles. This might be a good thing due to not being able to rotate the tires on the coupe.
