Your entitled to your opinion and I can't say your right or wrong. But why else would someone rant and rave about a cop being a dick to them? They caught that person doing something wrong. When I get cited, I hate them too.. but there are laws, even though most are BS, their job is to enforce them, right?

I bet they would also feel better about their jobs, than sitting around acting like cash cows for their municipalities.
There are specific duties for specific officers. They have their 'traffic cops', 'detectives', 'hook and book' and 'I.A.' type officers, and so on. How else would YOU like them to be deployed? I believe that if there was a better system, it would be implemented.

Actually I am very polite when I am pulled over. I roll down my windows, turn on my interior lights and have my hands on the wheel when they pull up. I do the yes sir no sir routine, politely give them my information which is always current and up to date. Do I still get treated like a ****bag? Often throughout my life, though noticeably less as I've gotten older.

Regarding a better system, the CHP is all speeders. Most of the police officers seem to spend their time on the same crap. I must have chosen the only exit off the freeway with a no right on red. Sure enough it was posted, and get this, the police officer was sitting in a donut shop parking lot all day just pulling people over for this violation. That to me is a waste of resources.

I had an ex get a nasty call at her house, someone claiming to be outside it etc blah blah blah. She calls 911 in a panic. The cops show up, stand in front of a dark house with a flashlight and yell anyone here, shine the flashlight around the front yard from the door once or twice and say you have no worries and leave. I'm sure their buddy had a hot one with a dude with no front license plate and an illegal exhaust pulled over to rush to!!! Left her. When my house was broken into the cops barely stepped foot inside the door. They asked some questions, left, and I never heard from them again.

What my point was is that the cops don't spend the time at things like break ins or harrassment issues. They write a report and take off and thats it. Why? Because they need to be out writing citations.

I'm sorry but I disagree. They are not civil servants. They are ticket writers.

PS... Not their fault... its how they are deployed... a better deployment would probably make them happier too.
