are you aware that your insurance company will fix it for free?

You should've switched over to Geico.

My car had a rock kicked up on it yesterday morning on the freeway, and it cracked my windshield.

I was curious if anyone might have any recommendations on where I could get my windshield repaired/replaced [for a good price] in the South O.C. neck of the woods.

I called Allstate, and I would have to pay my deductible...

Has anyone used this place?

Most insurance companies will allow you to fix it for free if the crack is not in your direct line of vision. If you want it replaced, it usually costs about $500 from a reputable shop.

Unfortunately, for me, Allstate would make me pay $500...

Any shop suggestions in South Orange County?

I've used Glass Doctor and depending on which one you go to, they're pretty good. I used to go to the one in Orange County, but he quit the business. I went to the one in Montebello by my parents house and he sucks.

You would have to get that repaired fast. I believe if the crack is more than 8 inches or so, repair shops cannot fix the crack, but rather replace your whole windshield.

Yeah, I have resigned myself to the fact that it is going to be a replacement: It is about a 10-inch long fishhook.

I think the crack grew because I parked my car in my driveway instead of the garage a few nights ago, and it got down to 36 that night.
