bump

the windshield on my gf's Mini Cooper has like a 20ft crack (ok more like 18-24in hah) and she needs to replace the windshield. She lives down in Newport and I'm trying to see if anyone has a hook-up or knows of a good place to take it. Also any idea on how much it should cost? Thanks.

Looking thru a cracked winshield....what fun!

I've been of the opinion that if a windshield is severely cracked it must be replaced and that insurance company's are obligated to do so free of charge. Not sure if that's just a Ca. law or if it's nation wide? No wonder Allstate is advertising they have the cheapest insurance, they don't cover ****....

EDIT: First time I heard that...good information to know. Doesn't your rate go up if you make any kind of comp. claim like that?

If you want it done right the first time, I cannot say the Glass Doctor is the route to go. I finally had my windshield replaced last week...

And now my passenger window does not stay rolled up and there is wind noise on that side as well.

I'm guessing somehow he screwed up the moulding on that side?

So now, I get to have him come back again. Yay.
