good film will last longer without discoloration,
and the % of heat that the tint rejects varies among different lines and brands, u can select different levels of reflectiveness, color.

quality = lasts long, high UV rejection %, high solar rejection and yes, they do vary greatly

high heat rejection without very dark tints is going to cost more, like the V-Kool or Hyper Optik (ceramic)
ask urself if u want reflective or not (i think neutral is better)

if u don't mind going with the more standard metallic tints then you can't go wrong with the major brands, like llumar, madico, suntek, etc... (I have suntek OP 20% on mine). they are all really the same, slight color variations. even good tint shops don't have much variety.

if u are near Van Nuys there is a guy who does all the tints for the dealerships, including Lexus, Infiniti, etc... - he gives the best price - he has a lot of brands, but mostly uses Suntek. let me know and i can fish his number out

if u have a navi, go with dyed or hybrid film (or ceramic), don't go metallic because it will affect your reception

look here if u want to educate urself:
http://www.tintcenter.com/films/

they don't have suntek or madico on there anymore, not sure why. i did a lot of research before i got tint and I came to the conclusion that I shouldn't worry about brand, decide about metallic or not (metallic shuts out more heat, but again, no good for navi, and slightly higher reflective properties), then decide about the darkness, then go slap it on.

BTW, the tint job is 50% install, 50% the film. so don't obssess too much over the film like i did.

hope that helps, if u need more info pm me

I got Formula One Tint, Premier Series, which is a medium tint at 35%. for under $300 with a lifetime warranty. You get what you pay for.

99.9% UV Protection
52% Heat Rejection
58% Glare Reduction

Click on the 3rd pix "Premier Series"

"Premier All Metal Window Tint"

I'm sure there's tons of good shops out there. This is just my personal favorite as well as my other friends as well.

Good luck!

The Tint Factory in Carson. My uncle owns it and he'll do a great job for a reasonable price. Tell George that Randy sent you.

I just got my car done today at the tint pros (www.thetintpros.com) in Huntington Beach. They did a great job. They were supposed to paint over the rear dot matrix but did not do so because of the weather. I rescheduled for next weekend for the paint. The sides look very clean. Like a fool though I lowered my driver side window for a second!
