Just wanted to let you know that there is a cop trap on valley blvd, east of baldwin. I was driving down the street and realized there were like at least 8 cops driving in circles with their lights on pulling over just about everyone. I was at the light when 2 cops pulled up behind me. I was driving my beater and the tags are expired (havent had time to renew them yet) so i almost sh*t in my pants. So i changed lanes and drove into a parking lot. Luckily i didnt get a ticket. I decided to checkout what was going on since just about everyone was watching.

So basically, they have 8 cops, 4 lined up on each side of the street (hiden behind stuff). They are all on motorcycles. There are also 2 crosswalks that go across valley blvd, with no stop sign or signals. You get the idea. They simply tell a pedestrian to cross the street. The pedestrian goes and obviously cars dont stop right away. So the motorcycles come speeding out like 80 mph and ticket the people who do not stop. I saw that as soon as the pedestrian set foot on the ground, even the car that passes by on the opposite side of traffic farthest from the pedestrian got ticketed. They must've handed out hundreds of tickets today. AVOID VALLEYBLVD AND BALDWIN!!!!!!

 

I've gotten popped for that along with a cali roll in one stop.

 

i might as well chime in.

there are periodic cop traps on Riverside Blvd running from the Los Feliz/Glendale area down to Elysian Park (toward Dodger Stadium), running parallele to the I-5 (Glendale Blvd, Los Feliz Blvd exits).

they just camp and pretty much gave me a ticket for driving a sporty car even - I was only going no more than 5mph faster than the flow of traffic.

 

Its funny, cops do this all day long! I rarely see them do a legal stop...

What a waste of police resources.

 

Actually, this is a systematic attempt to raise funds for city coffers. Police are purposefully being utilized for this purpose solely to make money, not for public safety. Your tax dollars at work...

I've heard about the pedestrian trap. If you go back to the spot after the ticket write-up, you'll see the pedestrian crossing the street back and they do the whole ordeal all over again pulling new people over.

 

They have those in Glendale...on Brand. It sucks too cause people dont stop for shiet. I remember seeing 4-5 bike cops waiting and seeing if cars stopped for people. When they didnt it was show time. I swear they handed like 15-20 tickets in that hour.

 

I dont drive around there but good lookin out anyways
