Repairs in Austin?

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum. I've had my G35 sedan about a year. I'm not confident in the place that I've taken it to do much more than an oil change. What's the place to bring a G35 for repairs in Austin?

+1 on that!

We're also having a tech day at my house in two weeks so if you really need some stuff done then come on out.

A thread will be up soon with more details.

Thanks. I don't have anything as of yet, but I just took it to Austin Infiniti for the 90k mile service. What I need done will depend on the prognosis after I hear from them.

By the way, besides being too expensive, how is Austin Infiniti? Usually dealerships are trustworthy for quality of work but not all. Do y'all have any experiences with them?

they are prety good. just dont let them wash your car because you'll get swirl marks like a mother!

I go through Monte and he is a very cool/helpful guy.

And for a fraction of the cost just talk to john (sir boostalot) he knows his stuff.

I don't have any experience with Austin Infiniti because I do all my own work on my car. I've heard good things about them but I guess it all depends to whose working on your car there. If I can assist you in any way feel free to send me a PM.

Steve is my contact there. Nothing needs to be done that isn't done during this service, so that's good news.

On a side note, I think I may need to change the brake pads at least in the front before the end of the year. I may hit you up, boost, if that's cool.

Brakes are a sinch. I wouldn't even charge you to do them, that's how cheap I am. Just let me know when you want them done.

They said I still have 5mm left, so it won't be soon. The way I drive, I could go on that for at least the rest of the year. Where do you recommend getting parts from?

It all depends on the parts you're looking for. I like to stay with OEM parts unless I'm upgrading/modifiying my car. For example if I was going to buy a paper air filter I would buy it from the dealer and not Autozone.

Right on. It's just that there's a good bit of places to get Akebono pads, so I wasn't sure if you got them somewhere local or online or something.

FYI, Akebono Racing Pads is too thick if you have Brembo's. It won't work.
